BIO
Born in 1981 in Senglea, Malta, Antonella Deletić is a contemporary painter currently based in Zeewolde, the Netherlands. She explores the interplay of textures and colours through her innovative use of linen and burlap, often layering acrylic paint and sand mixtures in shades inspired by the sea and nature. By incorporating teals, turquoises, greens, and sandy hues, Deletić creates dynamic compositions that evoke the essence of her surroundings, all while challenging herself to experiment with a broader colour palette to avoid monotony.
Her artistic journey is deeply intertwined with her Buddhist practice, which emphasizes determination, mindfulness, and personal transformation. Each piece serves as a narrative of overcoming challenges and achieving inner harmony, characterized by layered textures and a colour palette that reflects the beauty of the natural world. Notable projects include Una Parte Del Viaggio (2022), where she began to channel personal experiences into her art, and Breaking Karma (2024), a ten-piece collection that showcases a transformative journey through color.
Antonella Deletić is preparing for her debut solo exhibition in Zeewolde, with her works held in private collections across Europe. Her participation in group exhibitions and local art fairs from 2022 to 2025 reflects her commitment to sharing her unique vision and contributing to the contemporary art scene.
