‘Always Keep Fighting’
Combattere Sempre ‘Always Keep Fighting’ was born from a period in my life when I had to find the strength to face profound difficulties, without knowing how the journey would unfold. Love was at the heart of this experience: it gave me the strength not to give up, to stand by someone I love and to continue believing in the possibility of change, even in moments when moving forward seemed impossible.
The project is inspired by a speech by Daisaku Ikeda, in which the word "fight" is repeated twenty-five times to encourage people not to give up in the face of life's obstacles.
The six artworks emerge from this determination. Visually, this inner journey is expressed through a deliberate choice of materials and colours that reflects the duality of the struggle. The use of sand creates a dense, rough surface, symbolising the tangible reality of pain and the hardships encountered along the way. Against this textured surface, black circles and marks stand out, evoking the recurring nature of life's challenges and the weight of the obstacles we must overcome. Yet the compositions never surrender to darkness. The predominance of light, luminous colours and natural tones represents the enduring light of love, hope and the vital presence of a supportive network that surrounds us and helps transform suffering.
The words running across the surfaces:- Combattere Sempre, Ovunque Andiamo, Ichinen and Insieme ce la faremo; emerge from the painted layers, expressing the will to keep moving forward, the strength of inner determination and the importance of mutual support.
Through this project, I transform a personal experience into a universal reflection on the strength that comes from love, the courage to face difficulties together and the possibility of transforming our lives, even when the path ahead is uncertain.
